Transeuropa Journalism Award ‘From A to B’ winners announced

European Alternatives, Youth Press Italia, and Youth Media announced the winners of the Transeuropa Journalism Award “From A to B”. The winners of the Award, divided in three section, text, photo, audio/video, are: Hanna Svantesson (photo) with a series of intense portraits of the Rom children, Marco Riciputi (text) with the article Europa 2009 D.C and Valentina Cala with a the video ‘This is Europe’, which you can watch below.

EU Journalist Award: Together against discrimination

The European Commission invites online and print journalists to take part in the EU Journalist Award 2010 – Together against discrimination organised in the framework of the Commission’s anti-discrimination campaign. The articles on issues of discrimination and diversity in the European Union must be submitted before the competition deadline of 17 September 2010. WSYA: a global contest for best practice to support a better world

The World Summit Youth Award (WSYA) is a global contest for best practice to support a better world. Young application designers, e-Content creators, (under 30 years old) from around the world are invited to develop inspiring Internet content to raise awareness and help resolve the most pressing global issues. The WSYA demonstrates young people’s potential to create outstanding digital contents and serves as a platform for people from all UN member states to work together in the efforts to reduce poverty and hunger, and to tackle ill-health, gender inequality, lack of education, lack of access to clean water and environmental degradation. Submissions can be made in one of the 6 following categories: Fight poverty, hunger and disease, Education for all, Power 2 Women, Create your culture, Go green or Pursue Truth. Journalist Award 2010: Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion

The European Commission invites print, online and video journalists from all 27 EU Member States, Iceland and Norway to participate in the European Year Journalist Award 2010. Their articles or news reports must cover the issues of poverty and social exclusion in the European Union and must be published or aired between 1 October, 2009 and 31 August, 2010. The European Year (EY) Journalist Award 2010 has been created in order to support and recognize journalists who contribute to an increased awareness and a broader understanding of poverty and social exclusion through their work. Europrix Multimedia Awards 2010 registration will start in April

The EUROPRIX Multimedia Awards are Europe’s contest for young professionals and students who work on innovative projects in the field of e-contents and design, using whichever multimedia channel or platforms. Run for the Youth Democracy Award

The Federal Agency for Civic Education is giving away the Youth Democracy Award to a project, which advocates Democracy or Democracy in Europe in an outstanding way. The goal of this award is to build a bridge between the successful experiences in Germany and the international developments in democratizing. The jury consists young people in the age between 16 and 26 years, who are politically active and engaged in different branches of study.
