Become one of the AER’s Regional reporters competition
The Assembly of European Regions (AER) is organising the 2nd edition of AER’s Regional Reporters: ‘Move on, Europe! From mobility to diversity’, a competition for young Europeans between 18 and 30 years old. Participants will have the chance to become one of the AER’s regional reporters and broadcast their recordings online on radio stations across Europe, thanks to the radio station ‘Europe and you’. The best recording winner will be invited to take part in the AER Summer School and Youth Summer School on Mobility (22-27 August 2010, St.Gallen, Thurgau, Switzerland) to join the AER Press and Communication team and support their press work during this particular event. Scriptamanent contest: write about your EVS experience!
Have you done any kind of European Volunteer Service abroad between January 2007 and February 2010 and are you between the age of 15 and 30 years? If so, you are invited to participate in the Scriptamanent contest. The challenge is to write about your EVS experiences. The winning work will receive a sum of 300 euros! NANOYOU Picture Contest: ‘My intelligent environment’
NANOYOU invites young people between the ages of 16 and 25 years to take pictures of the nanotechnologies applications they discover in their environment and upload them to the picture gallery. A jury composed of designers, engineers, architects and scientists will select the best three pictures that portrait how nanotechnologies are becoming part of our lives. The three winning photographers will get cash prizes and also be invited to NANOYOU’s public debate in Paris on April 8, 2010, to present and comment on their images and exchange opinions with the public. CIPE Youth Essay Competition 2010
The Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) invites young people between the ages of 18 to 30 years old to participate in the Youth Essay Competition 2010. In the essay they should share their ideas on how to create opportunities for youth to strengthen democracy and the private sector in their own countries. Essays can be submitted in 3 categories: Democracy that delivers, Entrepreneurship and society and Women and participation. For each category first, second, and third place authors will receive a $1,000 honorarium, and CIPE will publish the winning essays. Submission deadline: 18 June 2010. Further competition details.
EPP 60 Second Film Competition 2010
The European People’s Party (EPP) invites all EU citizens between the ages of 15 and 30 to take part in the one-minute film competition. The challenge is to make a short film on the subject: ‘Imagine a life of poverty: can you picture a way out?’. Do you want to particpate in the film competition? Your city could be the European Youth Capital 2013
Considering the success of the European Youth Capital initiative and the great interest among applicant cities, the European Youth Forum is launching a new call for the European Youth Capital 2013. Do you want to suggest your city to run for the title? Contact local authorities and persuade them to apply before 22 June 2010!
The title ‘European Youth Capital’ is granted by the European Youth Forum to a European city for a period of one year. It’s given the city the chance to show its youth-related social, economic, cultural and political life and development by presenting a multi-faceted programme. This year Torino (Italy) is the second European Youth Capital in 2011 it will be Antwerp (Belgium) and currently Braga (Portugal), Byron and Heraklion (Greece) are shortlisted for the final phase of the selection process for EYC 2012
Fundamental Rights Agency International Video Competition 2010
The European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights invites young people between the age of 18 and 30 years old from all EU countries to participate in the International Video Competition 2010. The challenge is to create a video answering the following questions: What are your fundamental rights? Do you know how to protect your fundamental rights? The 3 best entries will each win a 5 day trip for 2 people to Vienna, from 6 to 10 May 2010, with transportation and accommodation included. Your video may not be longer than 2 minutes and the language of the video must be English, German, French, Spanish or Italian. How to submit? 2010 International Essay Contest for Young People
The International Essay Contest for Young People is organized by The Goi Peace Foundation and UNESCO. The theme of the year’s Essay Contest is: “My role in creating a peaceful world”. What is your vision of a peaceful and harmonious world? What can you and the young people of the world do to realize that vision? Campus Party Europe: event for technology, creativity & digital culture
The Spanish Ministry for Science and Innovation presents Campus Party Europe in Madrid from 14 to 18 April 2010 during the Spanish Presidency of the European Union. Campus Party Europe: a special edition of what is considered the biggest event for technology, creativity and digital culture online in the world. For four days, 800 young people from the 27 member states of the EU will participate in activities such as conferences, workshops and challenges centered around three knowledge areas: Science, Digital Creativity and Innovation. You could be one of the stars of this event by sending your project before the submission deadline of 15 March 2010.
